It's been a minute

I know it has been a while since I hit you guys off with a post. There is perfectly good reason for it too, but that is something that I will keep to myself. I guess its no harm in doing one every other polka dotted moon. So here goes...

Today was a day that will live in infamy. It actually started last night at around 11:30pm. Every Staurday I go to my mom's house so that I can attend church on Sunday mornings. She lives about an hour to an hour and a half away from me so I figure it would be best to spend the night there so I dont have to get up all early and rush to get ready. So this is the deal. I just recently came back from Florida where I was working for a while. I wrecked my car before I left so that left me with no transportation in Va. So I figured that the smart move would be to take my last check and buy me a hoopty to get me around so I can take my bf to work and, we can go grocery shopping and stuff, and also so that I could get out and find me a job here in Virginia. (sidebar- luckily I was smart and decided to apply for a job in walking distance in case of emergencies) Anyway, Yesterday (saturday) I ended up getting the job around the corner(Yay me!) So I'm syked! Im stoked as hell! Telling my boyfriend how happy I was, and may I mention that he stayed there with me the whole three hours that I was being interviewed. Thats love baby! The day was going great yesterday. Until later that evening we had a slight dispute, but nothing major. THEN! It was time to head to mama's crib. So I gathered my things for church and prepared my coach for departure. After some X's and O's from my boo, I pulled out. I was bobbing my head when I noticed a dinging like something was wrong... Lo and Behold!!! My damn engine was overheating and that lil gauge was red as hell!!! Luckily I was by my friend's house so I stopped by to let the car cool for a while and i checked and topped off my fluids in the mean time. So I sat and rapped a while with my homeboi until I felt my car should have been alright. So's I go outside and try to start 'er on up. But it just cranks and cranks with no results. I lifted the hood and noticed some water running from my air intake. I opened the intake and I could have taken a bath in all the water in hat lil box! I was like DAMN! So I went in the house and decided I was gonna have to let that water drain out before i try going anywhere. And here it is about 1:00 in the morning and ol' boy said he was finna go to bed so he asked me wat i was gonna do. (In other words, keep it cute or keep it moving cuz he aint sittin up no more) So I decided that I would stay there until about 6 am so I can get some sleep and also I was only about 30 minutes away from my mom's house. So I called to check in on the home front and reveal my disposition and got approval. So I went to sleep in the guest room. Forgot to set my doggone alarm on my phone. So here it is 8am and I am rushing to gather myself so I can get on the path. I snuck out and locked the doors and went to my vehicle. I got in and it right up with no trouble. I was like YES!!! So I hit the freeway baby. I was moving to LOL. So I get up the road about 15 minutes and damn if the car aint do the same thing. Only this time I'm in the country and aint nobody around to help and the car is sitting on the side of the road... with me in it!!! LAWDHAMERCY!!! What Imma do now. So I let the car sit to cool down. Meanwhile I get on the horn with my boo and talk. (glad I had a full charge!) So finally the car cools down and I go to start it. NOTHING HAPPENS!!! AAAAARRRGGHH!!!! I kept trying and trying and trying... I sat there from 8:30 til almost 9:30 trying to get this car moving. I called people and kept getting the gas speech. Not to mention church starts at 11am and i have a solo to do! And I need to bathe and brush my teeth and hair. OMG moment right? So After sitting there for an hour and coming to tears and begging the Lord to let my car start it did! So as soon as it did I stepped on the gas and flew off down the road. I was booking for all it was worth but keeping in mind what had been going on. I got about 5 or 10 minutes away from the house (still in the country) and the car cut slam off!!! I was going every bit ot 60 when it happened to. I pulled into a huge driveway because on the country roads there are no shoulders on the side of the road and there is no posted speed limit in the area. So I look under the hood and I notice that my engine is sizzling. All of the old grease that is usually on everbody's engine? Well mine was boiling and bubbling like I was frying fish!!! I was like shit! So I opened the coolant tank and too my surprise it was empty... AGAIN... I topped it off and my engine started drinking it like it was no tomorrow. I heard all kinds of gurgling and clunking... It was mildly funny but surprising at the same time. So I got back in the car and noticed that the gauge had shown a significant temperature decrease. So I go to start it and here we go again dammit! I cranked until the battery started to get weak. So my cousin called me from the church and I looked at the clock. 10:39am!!! Oh man! Imma be late. So she dispatched one of the teenagers to come pick me up since I was only a few mnutes away. When the lil girl got there I tried to get the car started one mo gin. I had her sit in the car while I looked under the hood, then I told her to turn the key. So I hear this loud CLANK! CLANK! Tears roll. My engine has seized up on me. And on top of that, water is pouring from my water pump and from under my intake manifold. Wow! I took my stuff out of the car, took the key and put it on the driver's seat and left a note for whoever found the car. Then I happened to look up and notice that I was sitting in the driveway of the man who owns the local salvage yard... lol how ironic. The reason I knew this is because he came down the driveway and asked me if I had AAA and if I did that when I had my car towed I would recommend his company... NIGGA! Im in tears here! So I left the car, went to mom's bathed and changed and the girl waited for me. I went to church, rocked the house, and got an awesome word... (another story- she compared life to spades and was dead on) We also had a second service today out of town that we sang at again. That went fairly well, they fed us... (what us baptists call a "repass") Then I came home to ma's had Mickey D's and chilled. Then something said to me, "Keith, go and get a quart of oil, put it in your car, and drive it home to your moms." So I got my sister to take me out to my car with the oil. I put it in the engine, turned the key and realized that my engine in fact wasn't seized! Yes Lord. It took a minute but I got the car started and moving. And I drove it to my mom's without hinderance. Until I parked. I putted a lil while it sat in idle in her driveway, but I was obedient and my car is safe at my mom's where someone can access it to repair it. And the reason I put so much effort into this car is because it is a late model vehicle with low miles, its in great shape body and interior wise. It looks really nice for what I paid for it. Of course it needed work and i was prepared for some work, but this is a lot. But honestly, I only paid 625 for the car, so Im surprised it was running this long. And its paid for. So yeah... Imma get 'er fixed up. I call 'er pickles...

OMG Keith!! What a horrible Saturday night!! That's like deja vu of the one night me you and Mike was humping to Franklin. Please leave pickles at your mom's house so you can get him thoroughly fixed and inspected!! I got Mr. Rusty fixed! YAY!! But the engine light came right back on again after I got the jerk fixed. :-( Its saying the cat converter went bad. :-( Huh? I just got that fixed! So I'ma take him to the dealership to see what the hell is going on cause too many mechanics is telling me different things. And I'm not trying to get duped.
